Its south porches, as an active façade, have an important climatic role. In the summer they act as chimneys, cooling themselves as air moves, and in the winter they will act as solaria, capturing light and warmth.

At the same time the Colt glass louvers filter sunlight into the offices and porches. Because they are sun- tracking, they reduce glare and solar heat gain. They have a potential for future electricity production by the fitting of photovoltaic cells.

Colt worked with the Architect and Contractor to ensure that the client's aesthetic and energetic requirements were precisely met. Colt's motorized solar shades have three different kinds of frits/tints, and they are controlled by a Colt ICS 4-Link control system.
