Lighting levels at the Cambridge Public Library are maintained at an even level and glare is reduced.
Part of the extension of the main library included the installation of a double façade to increase comfort and reduce running costs.
This double façade incorporates a giant Venetian blind to regulate light and heat which Colt designed and supplied. This has a special extra wide slat design for added performance and aesthetics. A Lux sensor is connected to the BMS which moves the Venetian blinds thereby keeping the levels of light constant.
